Turing Network

The University of Nottingham is one of 24 universities to receive a first-ever Turning Network Development Award. Praminda Caleb-Solly, Professor of Embodied Intelligence in the School of Computer Science and Expert Academic at the Cobot Maker Space, will lead on the work being carried out in Nottingham.

Work will further connect the growing research, business and community activities in Nottingham, aiming to strengthen links with key ATI priority areas and challenges. Activities will be carried out under three themes and will focus on ‘making AI Accessible’  by addressing the risks and lack of accessibility into AI, which leads to exclusion, increased digital divide and algorithmic bias caused by poor data and understanding.

Planned Themes:

  • Addressing fundamental methodological challenge areas in AI
  • Training for Early Career AI Researchers
  • Engaging the public with AI challenges of data sharing

Funding commences 1 February 2022 through to 30 September 2022
