We are delighted to welcome Luis Figueredo as a new user of the Cobot Maker Space. Luis is a Transitional Assistant Professor in Assistive Robotics, based at the School of Computer Science, University of Nottingham.  Luis is working on a project titled ‘Holistic Human-Robot Interaction’. His research focuses on the challenges of physical interaction and close collaboration through coexistence, shared manipulation, interaction and collaborative manipulation and builds on fundamental of robotics all the way to human-factors.

Following a unique holistic perspective on HRI, Luis’ research will address aspects such as human safety, task representation and constrained satisfaction for mobile manipulation planning and control, to enable coexistence actions, interaction and collaboration during complex and sequential tasks.
