We welcome Digvijay to the Cobot Maker Space. Digvijay is a Masters Student at the University of Nottingham working on a project that aims to develop self supervised methods for tracking objects in grayscale video sequences, specifically focusing on MRI videos. Traditional tracking algorithms, optimized for high-resolution colour images, fail to address the unique challenges presented by grayscale imaging, such as reduced contrast, elevated noise levels, and the subtle movements of internal organs and tissues. These issues are particularly critical in medical diagnostics, making the development of effective grayscale tracking systems not only a novel but a necessary advancement. By leveraging large amounts of raw, unlabelled grayscale video data, this project seeks to pioneer new methods that could significantly enhance medical imaging analysis and extend the applicability of self-supervised learning models to a broader range of real-world applications where colour data is absent.
