EMERGENCE Network – Expert Webinar Series

Professor Praminda Caleb-Solly, Professor of Embodied Intelligence at the School of Computer Science at the University of  Nottingham explains “One of the key barriers to getting assistive robots out of our labs and into the real-world is lack of understanding of regulatory and ethical considerations within the contexts in which these are to be deployed. At the same time, given that assistive robots are still emerging technologies, we are still trying to work our way through a complex set of challenges, in not only making these technologies safe and trustworthy, but also ensuring functional efficacy and indeed, relevance. The EPSRC Emergence Healthcare Technologies Network+ I lead is on a mission to bring these issues to the fore as part of driving advances in healthcare robotics research. We are very pleased to host a series of webinars to bring you a diverse range of experts to help us navigate our way through. You can sign up to learn from and chat to Emma Glass from BSI and Prof of Robot Ethics Alan Winfield on the 8th of May at 12:00 GMT, as part of our Expert Webinars https://lnkd.in/eQQyRseA”
